SHAKIRA has been declared one of The Economist’s most important people of 2009.


The sexy Colombian warbler, 32, was recognised thanks to The Barefoot Foundation, the charity she founded which concentrates on education in her native country.

She said: “I was quite surprised and humbled to see myself alongside the likes of President Obama.”
