HOT new girl duo Mini Viva have put the brakes on their album to avoid a chart clash with The X Factor’s acts.

The pair – Frankee Connolly and Britt Love, both 20 – scored a massive Top 10 summer hit with Left My Heart In Tokyo.

But with 50-year-old Simon Cowell's all-conquering talent show predictably dominating the charts, the hotly-tipped ladies have decided to delay their release.

Frankee told me: “Our album has been finished for a while but it won’t come out until after Christmas now.

“There’s too much competition for new bands around Christmas, especially with The X Factor about.

“It will now be out early 2010, so we have more time to get ready.”

One of the main reasons Mini Viva are holding back is to avoid comparisons with the enigma that is Jedward.

Frankee, from Rossendale, Lancs, explained: “I suppose they are bubbly, a bit like us. They are actually really entertaining. I can’t stop laughing when they come on TV.”

And Geordie Britt added: “They have got great hairstyles – the quiff is amazing, it’s better than mine. Our fans reckon they’ve stolen style tips from us.”

Mini Viva’s Xenomania- produced album might be on hold but they will go ahead with the release of new single I Wish next month.

Britt said: “It’s not as upbeat as our first single because we want a different feel for each song.

“It’s about reminiscing over an old relationship wishing you’d tried harder because what you had was good.”

The girls have also recorded an MTV Live Session which fans can watch on mtv.co.uk from tomorrow.

“Playing live gives us a bit more edge,” believes Frankee.

“It makes the songs more raw. Anyone can sing along to backing tracks.

“We do a cover of Taio Cruz’s Break Your Heart as well.”
