ALBUM - ROBBIE WILLIAMS: REALITY KILLED THE VIDEO STAR
ABOVE: Robbie is being comfortable in his own skin on this record

WHILE Bodies was a perfectly good/morbid pop song, sonically it wasn’t groundbreaking -and it was certainly no crowd-pleasing Angels.
But by the same token it sounded like Robbie being comfortable in Robbie’s skin - unlike his “career suicide” moment, Rudebox.
Several years off the scene, drug problem sorted, love life blossoming, Robster sounds like he’s grown up.
The strings-laden You Know Me and electro-peppered Difficult For Weirdoes (with its theme of being the odd one out) sound like classic Robbie, the kind of tunes you can imagine him belting out at Knebworth.
But there are low points, too: Do You Mind, being one.
Why does Robbie insist on playing the practical joker in his music, still?
Is there enough on here to suggest Rob should stick with the solo career instead of running back into the warm embrace of his former bandmates?
Well, he doesn’t need to chuck in the solo towel just yet – but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t dip his toe back into the Take That fold for a minute or two, either!
