Sugary, Disney-fied confections are so 2008.

(This is the girl who just topped a US poll naming her the worst celebrity icon of 2009 after all. She needs the music to back it up!)

And who wants goody-goody when you can have fun and trashy?

Lead single Party In The USA embodies both of those things: it’s bubbly, bouncy and reminiscent of 90s Mariah Carey.

The title track is as sassy as a disco-scuffed pair of cowboy boots, too.

A live recording of Before the Storm, a track with the Jonas Brothers is a bit limp, however, as is ballad, When I Look At You. Kicking and Screaming amps the sass factor up again and is a taster of the rock chick that’s just waiting to burst out of the Hannah Montana actress.
