To say this trailer was in a state of disrepair was putting mildly. The only thing that worked was the signal lights in the back. The refrigerator was done, the water pump was a “for looks only” item, the plumbing leaked badly, the vent cover was missing (the previous owner fixed this by putting a pan over it), and at one point we found a hole in the roof.
On January 22, in five inches of new snow, I followed two sets of coyote tracks all over the Far Field, where red foxes had always lived. They were classic coyote tracks, between two and two and a half inches long with distinctive toenail marks and heel pads. I saw where the coyotes had sniffed at the bases of trees and poked their heads under blowdowns.

The berries ripen to a brilliant black color, or red, pink, or white and are delectably fragrantly sweet and about two inches long, like a cooling blend and taste of raspberry and strawberry. The mulberry is excellent for fresh eating and for cooking pies.
Many say that cooking is from a bygone era, but this is a survival skill that women AND men should be taught when they grow up. High Schools teach “home economics” and show their students a few pointers on cooking but nothing beats learning at home from the master your Mom or Dad. As a parent or guardian of a child, it is your duty to hand down the art of cooking so that it can be passed on to them and to their children and so on..
