One of the main reasons were land, as the American population expanded the need for land increased wich led to expansion Westwards into native lands as well as northward. Following the war of independance the govenor of Upper Canada (inland) had lured a lot of Americans to the country with promises of cheap land. Similarly there had been a mass migration from the US of loyalists which meant some 30% of the population of Upper Canada was actually American born..

To assess the future success of the Kinect Ed nutrition and cooking intervention, the purpose of the current study was to develop the Kinect Ed pre test, post test, and parental surveys, establish content and face validity, as well as test retest reliability and internal consistency. Content validity was examined using an expert panel (n=7) and face validity using cognitive interviews (n=8). Test retest reliability of the Kinect Ed pre test (n=129) and post test (n=107) was completed with young adolescents (9 14 years), while the parent survey was followed up a telephone interview (n=20 parents).
I think this was a wonderful idea and a huge success. It was nice to see a whole community come together to make something more or less as a team. Barry McAndrews turned to an old friend to help put it all in perspective. That friend was George M. Metzger, a former county commissioner who heads a Doylestown public relations agency. She thoroughly enjoyed the weekly hikes and the chance to be in the natural world she had loved since childhood. She began by teaching students for their GED examination and then became involved in English as a Second Language classes. The students who went on to become teachers themselves especially touched her.
